I have sold all sorts of insurance : auto, home, business, life, health, incapacity, etcetera, and I are at present selling Mexican car insurance.
Insurance in Mexico is a tiny bit different animal than it is in the U. S. , as there are some coverage limitations that someone from the US wouldn’t expect to encounter. Below I have listed just a few of these differences, and please do not confuse this with a complete list of all of the differences, as there are too many to list.

Now I would like to address the named hazards versus all risk policy difference. First off, what’s named dangers? It is when an insurance policy names the particular hazards that are covered by the policy. As an example : collision, fire, upset, total theft, etcetera.
A, so called, all risk policy states that we are going to cover the insured property for anything that happens, and then it takes away categorical perils, called exclusions. Exclusions that are shared by any insurance policy are : nuclear event, war, civil unrest, and etcetera. I call the all risk policy so called because it does not cover everything. It will take away some risks. However , it provides much more coverage than does the named perils policy.
Nearly all Mexican automobile insurance plans are named hazards policies, while almost all US policies are all risk policies. You must be conscious of this before you go to Mexico, and remember that your Mexican auto policy will offer a more limited coverage than does your present US policy. I have yet to find an all risk Mexican policy, and if I find it I would imagine the price would be thru the roof.
